The Narrative May Not Write Itself
Within each photograph exist three points of view: that of the photographer, that of the subject and that of the observer who confronts the image with very little knowledge of the why, the how, the when, the what, or the who. The observer fills in the blanks, forming a narrative that brings life and meaning to the photograph. Or is it the photograph that brings life and meaning to the observer’s narrative?
