Open Thresholds

This body of work begins with an interest in how we perceive things before we fully understand them—through fragments, edges, movement, memory, and what sits just outside direct focus.

This body of work begins with an interest in how we perceive things before we fully understand them—through fragments, edges, movement, memory, and what sits just outside direct focus. Many of these ideas have grown out of time spent observing the rhythms and continual transformations of the natural world. Working with the material's own logic, those experiences gradually take shape as layered fields of color and interconnected forms. I hope these works offer a space to pause, look closely, and discover your own rhythms, connections, and associations within them.

Flowers in Our Hair by soft-geometry opens during NYCxDESIGN 2026 at the New York flagship of Indian artisanal fashion label Kartik Research. The show debuts two new bodies of work, the Flower Sconces and Long-Haired Sconces, Volume 2, and quietly asks: what if the way we ornament our spaces is as personal as the way we ornament our bodies?

Both collections will be on display during the week long exhibition that highlights the continuous innovation and creative prowess of Utharaa and Palaash, the architects behind soft-geometry. Their use of unique materials and techniques continue to push the boundaries of design proving that expert craftsmanship and originality supersede trendy lighting and contractor-grade dupes.

All works on view are for sale. Orders open at soft-geometry.com from September 1, 2026.
